Christmas Holiday Traditions

Beautiful Christmas TreeMy family and I have many specific Christmas traditions that we do every year. Every year on Christmas Eve my parents, my siblings and I go to my grandparents on my moms side. We have traditional Polish food. My favorite being keilbasa whcih is like a sausage. After we have Christmas dinner my grandma and I clean the dishes than go into the other living room to sort all the presents. There are a lot of them every year since they have a big tree, and I admit that my brothers and I are spoiled. We than all sit in our specific spots that we picked years ago and my brothers and I open our gfts first taking turns. Than my parents open their gifts, than I help my
98 year old grandma open hers, than my grandparents and uncle open theirs. Every year my uncle and I wrap a christmas present for eachother that is really stupid and funny. We always joke around and pick on eachother. After we open all the presents we go to midnight mass at church which my brother usually ends up falling asleep to. It's better to go at night so we dont have to go in the morning and we won't have to wait to open our gifts.

On Christmas morning my family and I open our presents taking turns. Later on that night we go to my other grandparents on my dads side. My uncle who is a priest leads in prayer before dinner. We have more keilbasa. My grandma makes REALLY good pasta salad. After dinner we play a game like Apples to Apples or some other game to let the food settle. Than we go into the living room to open presents, again taking turns going around the room. Since my birthday is three days before Christmas I also get some birthday presents from relatives I have'nt seen seen in a while. We than have a little gift exchange game and play with our gifts. I usually take a nap right afterwards because I'm stuffed. After Christmas is when I go back on my diets because it's impossible to be on a diet during Christmas time. I love Christmas so much and am so excited for this year.
